Birgit Fischer im #TuesdayMusicTalk: Warum sie songs.de unterstützt und bald selbst nutzt

German musician Birgit Fischer, known for her commitment to fairness and artistic independence, spoke with Jens Reese, founder of songs.de, in a #TuesdayMusicTalk interview. In the video, she expresses her enthusiasm for the platform and announces that she plans to release her own music there in the near future.
Birgit Fischer sees songs.de as a real alternative to conventional streaming services – and highlights several reasons why more artists should explore the platform.
“There is a fair alternative to Spotify. Many musicians don’t even know it exists yet. songs.de is free to join, independent – and above all, fair,” she explains in the video.
She outlines three main advantages of songs.de:
-
Artists set their own price per stream.
-
Major labels don’t automatically earn money through old contracts.
-
Every single stream counts, not only after reaching a minimum threshold.
As a listener, Fischer acknowledges the convenience of large streaming platforms. But from an artist’s perspective, she says, they are often economically unviable. songs.de, in contrast, offers a path toward greater appreciation and control.
The interview was recorded in collaboration with her co-host @lunattackofficial and is part of an ongoing series of conversations about new approaches in the music industry.
